Propose an Exhibition

Propose an Exhibition

The Foreground Gallery thrives because of creative community members like you!

Please review our policies below, and submit your proposal using the form at the bottom of this page.

Thank you!

Process

  1. The Phoenix Arts Alliance board reviews exhibition proposals on the second Wednesday of each month.

  2. Once the board has reviewed your proposal, they will contact you with available dates.

  3. Once you have agreed to the dates for your show, you will sign an Exhibition Agreement Form. Your exhibition will be officially scheduled once you sign and return this form.

  4. It will then be added to our public calendar.

What resources we provide:

  • Access to the exhibition space for the run of your show.

  • Basic installation tools (drill, hammer, ladder etc).

  • Pedestals – please check that the pedestals we have work for your needs. You may need to supply your own if they are specialized.

  • 3 moveable walls.

  • Gallery floor plan.

  • Gallery sitters during open hours.

  • Should you choose to paint the walls, we will paint them white at the end of your show. Please let us know in advance if this is something you would like to do.

  • Marketing. We will list your show on our public calendar, advertise through our social media and website, and send out a press release. We also produce posters and show cards.

Expectations of the exhibitor:

  • You should be prepared to do the installation, during a 3-5 day install window.  Please be in touch with the IBRC about your install dates.

  • Please stick to the opening and closing dates agreed to in your Exhibition Agreement Form.

  • At the end of the show, please fill in nail holes and do basic cleanup.

  • Do basic cleanup after any receptions or special events.

  • If you would like the walls a different color, it is your responsibility to paint them. We will paint them white afterward.

  • We ask that, in addition to the IBRC marketing, you also advertise through your personal and professional networks. We find that this is the most effective way of getting the word out.

  • We ask that you or members of your group cover a minimum of two shifts of gallery sitter hours. We appreciate any additional assistance beyond those hours.

Sales

While we are not a commercial gallery, we can facilitate sales for you. We ask for a sales commission of 20%. This is well below the commercial rate and is used to cover our basic overhead costs.
